Ray Adkins

From the age of 17, Ray Adkins has studied and created music in multiple genres including, classic rock, folk, and reggae.
Ray said, "Having been raised near Chapel Hill, North Carolina, I feel I've come full circle. Like most of us who grew up in the '60's and 70's, I devoured James Taylor's music. It gives me deep pleasure to undertake this musical project with like-minded musicians. Audiences have not-only enjoyed our performances, many say they have been moved by them."
An accomplished singer-songwriter, Ray co-founded the well-known Philadelphia area-based rock band “The Manatees.” They released their first album, High Water in 1990.
In 1993 he struck out on his own, writing and performing in three solo albums:
You Are The Love — 1993
Atma Gita — 1996
Starting to See — 2010
His latest album Here I Am — 2016 is inspired, in part, by his experience as Music Director at NewChurch LIVE in Bryn Athen, Pennsylvania.
Now Ray and a group of musicians, each accomplished in their own right, have collaborated on a special project, creating “One Man Dog” — a James Taylor tribute band. Named for James Taylor's 1972 album of the same name.
